Description
This course asks how and why species and ecosystems are increasingly becoming endangered, and what are the causalities behind the ongoing biodiversity loss. We go through ecological facts and societal dimensions tied to endangerment. Red-list assessments are used to evaluate the risks of extinction (for species) and ecological collapse (for ecosystems) both nationally and internationally, and we familiarize ourselves with the red-listing methodology while keeping in mind that information on endangerment is a key tool for conservation. During the course you will study independently at Moodle learning platform.
